What do you do with it?

What do you do when you find out something you really wish you hadn't? Like your husband lost his job? Or your parents are getting a divorce? Or a dear friend just had a baby that has been diagnosed with a life-long disability that will most likely change life as she knows it? It stops you in your tracks. It brings you to your knees. It makes you realize how much you truly do love those people who God has brought along your path, even if you haven't seen or talked to them in a long time. And you wish somehow that you could cross all barriers of space and time to get to them. But what do you say? Even if you could cross those barriers, what could you possibly say.....words don't seem adequate. Anything you think to say would be wrong because of this or that....You don't want to say this happens for a reason or God must have known that you were strong enough or any of those things. Because for obvious reasons those thoughts themselves could add to the pain that they are already feeling. And adding to the pain is the last thing you want to do.

So what do you do with it? Well in my case, I cried. All day long. On and off. I love her so much it is tangible. I cannot imagine how in love she is with her precious baby and I want so much to celebrate that with her. And I will....and I am. But I am also crying because I know that her heart must be hurting and her mind must be reeling at what the future will hold for her and her baby. And her family. And I prayed. Because God is the only one who I know that loves her more than I do at this moment. And He is the only one who can cross those barriers to get to her with that love. And He is the only one who can take her and prepare her for the journey ahead. I am and have been scared for her, but He is not scared at all. And I know that He is capable of making something truly beautiful and amazing out of something that seems so difficult and tragic.

I will pray with you. Your post brought tears to my eyes. But, the most important thing that you said is God is not scared! I pray that the family will feel God's hand on them and know that He loves like no other. I cant imagine being where they are right now, but God can and WILL help them through this. ((hugs))
