My Crazy Day

So we started out this day a little earlier than usual because we had to get a lot done. And it began with a meeting at my NEW job! Yeah! I had to go fill out all the new hire paperwork and to get a drug test. I promised my children that I would take them to the park if they would be good. We brought along a lot of coloring books and crayons to help them in this endeavor. Little did I know that they had snuck in glitter glue into the crayon box. And somewhere between my 3-4 finger being fingerprinted (yes...you have to be fingerprinted to work in the state of Mississippi...I know, weird. I have never been fingerprinted in my life) I discovered that my children were covered in glitter glue. Thankfully they had this GoJo stuff to wash your hands with....for the fingerprinting ink usually, but in our case, for the glue.

On to our next stop, getting a ticket for the Beth Moore conference coming to New Orleans in April. I am SOOOOO excited! And I am going with all of my new friends here in Picayune. Ok, so I really don't have any new friends here in Picayune, but I hope that I will by April and that they will be going with me.

Then we ventured to the park. I promised, and except for a little glitter the kids had been very good up to this point. So we stayed there for a little while and I got caught up with an old high school friend on the phone who is turning 30 today! We are old! It was so good to chat with her.

Then we had to make a run to the post office to mail out my application for licensure to adminster radiation in the state of Mississippi. Pretty soon, I will be able to radiate people all across the country!

And last but not least (after a stop at Guthrie's for some chicken....I am soooo glad they have one of these here), we headed over to the DMV to get a new license to drive in the state of Mississippi. This is where it all fell apart. Apparently you have to have cash only and exact change to get a license and wouldn't you know it...the cost is $21. Now why does it have to be $21, not $20. Now I have to go and find a bank, get $40 out of the ATM, convince them to give me change for one of the $20 even though I don't bank there so that I can go and get my license. Well, I did all of that and came back. Only to find out that I have to have a proof of my new address and they will only accept certain forms of this proof. Aghhh! This is getting ridiculous! They did say that one of those forms could be registration of your car in this state. And I needed to get the car registered in this state anyway. And that office was only 2 doors down from this office. And get this, they don't care where you live and need no proof that you live in this state to get that. (Whatever!) Anyway, I took a number and waited in line behind 10 people. As I approached the counter, the lady asked me if I still owed money on my car. I said yes and she said that she would need my registration from the previous state. I am prepared at this point! I have it! I am going to accomplish all of my goals with two kids in tow. She looks down at it and says, "I am sorry, since your car is licensed under both you and your husband's name, then you both have to come in to sign a form to get it titled in this state so we can register it in this state!"

I give up! It will have to wait until another day! A day where I can bring in my new fingerprint evidence (now that I have that), my birth certificate, every form of mail I have with my new address and my husband in bodily form. Maybe then I can get a license and a tag in this state. And I sincerely hope this is the last time I ever have to do this!

I TOTALLY understand!!!! It took me a total of 4 days to get it all done and to have all the papers they wanted. To get our license here....we had to have a birth certificate and I had to have my original marriage certificate. CRAZY!
